The Architecture of Renunciation (Dennis Aubrey) Abbaye de Senanque (Vaucluse) Photo by PJ McKey. They “made it a point of honour to recruit the best stonecutters” and craftsmen and increasingly, their churches and abbeys became models of a new formal architecture.
